Yoga Therapy and You

“Yoga allows you to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life, where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit broken pieces together.”  B.K.S. Iyengar

Yoga Therapy develops an understanding and appreciation of the interplay between the organic systems of the body. We learn how emotional trauma shows itself in the physical body, how physical trauma affects our mental health, and how both affect the breath and our overall well-being. Over time, with consistent practice, this understanding can deepen and develop into relief from and the management of:

  • autoimmune diseases
  • spinal injuries/nerve damage
  • traumatic brain injury
  • cPTSD
  • addiction recovery
  • major life transitions
  • cancer treatments/recovery
  • post-op rehab
  • caregiving
  • end-of-life process

 Athletes, such as:

  •  marathoners, cyclists, and swimmers
  • martial artists and bodybuilders
  • lacrosse, hockey, and baseball players

…benefit by reaching their maximum form and efficiency.

  • Vocalists learn to deepen the connection between breath and body.
  • Musicians, such as cellists, guitarists, pianists, and saxophonists, develop skills to balance physical asymmetries caused by prolonged practice.
